Airstream - Follow Through download mp3 flac

Terrible song. The singer had, quite possibly, the most annoying voice of all time. He sounded like a wino getting kicked out of a tavern or something -- just an uninspired yell into a microphone backed by yawn-inducing piano swirls and sloppy production. Thankfully Weatherall came in to save it, but that's the only positive this band ever came across. Weatherall mercifully edited the vocal completely out of his mix and turned in a great early-90s type of progressive house chugger that he was such an expert at. The fact Weatherall turned this garbage into anything listenable at all is a testament to his brilliance. I get the feeling this band was One Little Indian's try at duplicating the Charlatans or something. It's fun to listen how awful the singer is, though...kinda like a nasty train wreck.

Catchy little baggy indierock number from a UK guitar band, but based on a groovy piano line (thoughtfully offered to us here for mixing purposes as the isolated piano track "Follow Through (Piano-Oops)") The lead vocals are vaguely reminiscent of Aistream's more popular peers Happy Mondays or Flowered Up, though more tuneful than either of the respective singers of those groups generally were. Catchy song, nice beat, very solid. The Andrew Weatherall "Nine O'Clock Drop Mix" on the b-side is great, with able engineering assistance from Dubmaster Thrash.
