Alphawezen's EN PASSANT carries the chilliness of their earlier album, but this time with more of a pop injection. The delicate twinkle of "Chance Destination" switches to electro-pop on "Speed Of Light," but returns, with strings, in time for "Rain." But "Welcome To Machinarchy" is a pure silly pop confection, and "I Like You" doesn't change that path whatsoever. The phased easy listening of "Sommerzeit" stays peppy, and the title track once again tries to straddle the line between pop and icy coolness. "White Noise" brings things back to the pop side with its light breaks and piano chords. The long "Wald2" gets more spacious, and the guitar punctuates the floating reprise of "Speed Of Light (Godart String Version)." Not a bad album, but not quite compelling either.

imo, cover artwork looks like an elaborated replica/reminiscense of Goettsching's `e2-e4´...
however both is sob stuff on that score.
