What a great record! All numbers have a very bluesy and funky sound typical of the hard bop sound of the era, except the mellower and more dramatic Largo. All musicians are in great form but it is especially a treat to hear musicians like Tommy Turrentine and Booker Ervin himself who appear on not so many records. And this Affinity pressing may look cheap but it has a great sound. Cook, Book, cook!
