How is there no actual review of this album? A touchstone of post-hardcore/math-rock/math-metal whatever. It's unclassifiable because it's totally original. This is a classic example -- in retrospect -- of a band's first record hinting at what was to come and then hitting their stride. I read somewhere that the guitar work has no palm-muting on the whole album. These guys were basically the Fugazi of '90s metal-hardcore: rhythm-section driven and insane guitar noise but with a singer stuck on "pissed." So very essential.
