Decent late 60's psychedelic blues rock that at times sounds very dated, which isn't always a bad thing beleive it or not. But sadly in this case, it seems to impede rather than bring about any warm fuzzy feelings or nostalgia.

I've had this same vinyl copy in my collection since its release and recall enjoying it far more back in the day. Recently, I had to struggle while attempting to listen to the album in its entirety, and I'm generally very patient/tolerant when it comes to music.
However, I still found a handful of cuts quite satisfying - Lay It On Me, Gut Runs Great Stone, Trippin Like a Dog and Rockin Like a Bitch, Green Eyed Lady, and (Do I Figure) In Your Life. While the rest did nothing for me...pure studio filler in my opinion.
Had John employed an actual band for these sessions, I feel this would have aided. For the most part it's a 2-piece...just him strummin' and wailin', along with drummer Helmut Pohl (who later turns up in Gomorrha) bashing away.
I would have rated this much higher had some of the other cuts been on par with the aforementioned.

John plays all guitar/bass and sings, but is backed on "(Do I Figure) In Your Life" by Andy 'Shotgun' Marx/lead guitar & bass (later to join & support Cherubin, Tanned Leather, Utopia/Olaf Kubler, Udo Lindenberg). Paul Rodger's (Free/Bad Company) also lends some backing vocals on "Ride A Rainbow".
The album is produced by future Krautrock studio wizard engineer/producer Conrad Plank (aka Conny Plank). Fans of Kraftwerk, Guru Guru, Cluster, Neu!, etc will no doubt recognize this name. Oh yeah...Conny also displays his bongo playing skills here and there ;)

I've included one of my video uploads featuring two of my favourite tracks from this LP (vinyl rip). I also offer a quick bio prior to the music beginning.
The songs are - Gut Runs Great Stone & Lay It on Me, and my video can be found on the Discogs 'Creepy John Thomas' release page.
