I live for gem's like this- from little known artists, floating in cyber space & relatively unheard of, yet harbouring 2 sides of- well, I'll have to try to word it- undefinable post Chicago acid house abstractions. 'Booty' uses a mechanically replayed, phased & wobbly conga loop from Arthur Russell's 'School Bell/Tree House', accompanied by vocal stabs & samples from early classics such as Peech Boys 'Don't make Me Wait' & a host of drug/ecstasy related references. D-E-E-P-E-R.... BITCH! Its not exactly sophisticated, but it sure is fun & scares the sh*t out of dance-floor harlequins. Tracky, deep & chugging towards a loopy climax with resonating shakers & a deep, bouncing bass you didn't really notice till the end, but feel all the way. 'Swirl' adopts a similar path of chopped up early house breaks, with the addition of ambient bleeps, lyrics about seduction, heavy breathing & the sort of lazy but pounding percussion that holds you in a trance.
