Notes

Made in Holland

Recorded at the Manor except the guitar which was recorded at the Kingston Studio. The singing was recorded by the Manor Mobile in The Queen's College Hall with the permission of the Principal. The Church Organ was recorded at St. Giles Church, Cripplegate.

The narration is taken from the prose gloss which Coleridge added to his poem for the 1817 edition. This composition is not intended as a literal musical interpretation of the entire poem.

The music which opens and closes the piece and indeed recurs throughout is an arrangement of Basse Danse "La mourisque" published in 1561.
