Huge De La fan here. Bought every album on vinyl and CD so when I heard this was coming out I was pumped. Then to listen to this it's like watching your favorite rap crew grow old and corny in front of your very eyes. Everything they did before this was real and good, this is a hail-mary pass experiment that has strayed so far from rap that it's not even Hip Hop any more. It's more like a shitty Gorrillaz album, hybridized, commercialized, pasteurized, and on top of everything it's crowd funded so it's compromised, Please don't go out on the bottom De La, I'll forgive you for this one piece of crap if you come back and do a real Hip Hop album.

Side A & B = Godly, Side C & D = Really bad :/ This album was off to an amazing start but side c & d sounds really pop and overall bad (not every track on those sides are trash but most of them especially compared to side A/B.

This album is a great assemblage of all the things that make De La unique: 1) 'nobody' concept and fan funded, 2) sampling themselves... they've been breaking ground on sampling since '3 Feet High..,' 3) collaborations with rock and alternative artists... builds off of Gorillaz work and others, 4) and not to mention personal, revealing and dope lyrics. De La has been a crossover hit–with hip-hop head cred–since the beginning, they've been headlining on the festival circuit for the past 20 years, they have mass appeal and are not going for chart toppers or radio play in any traditional sense. This album should not be a surprise to those paying attention.

It’s not often we get decent long players these days. The new LP from De La Soul may not be chock-full of bangers that you’re going to play out as a DJ, but it certainly has it’s highlights, and it plays through as a great album should do. The hip hop super-trio have always had a knack of delivering the goods when the time is right and lyrically this is on point throughout. A sure fire grower that will no doubt become a classic in years to come. De La Soul are back… www.digdeeprecords.co.uk

I really like about half of it and the more i listen the more i like it. A few of the guests just dont work. The only thing that bothers me is that i was one of the backers and put quite a bit of dough into it and still haven't recieved anything yet. I think we should have got the album before it was in store as we were the ones who made it happen.

'Trainwreck' top track on this LP... but a real hiphop LP ? more of an experimental rap project!
