one of D.Ferrer's best moments, sadly the pressing is very quiet and the noisefloor cuts thru the signal throughout the disc. This one definitely deserves a re-issue, either on a 2x12", or one LP processed from a clean copper master (DMM).
it is a lacquer cut, with 15-16 minutes per side it cannot be loud,but of course it is possible that your copy has very low noisefloor and plays clean, i've heard threee copies so far, and mine was the best of the three, but im far from hearing all of them :) the levels on the ones i've heard remind me of Inifiniti's "think quick" on Metroplex. Possible sources of the noise/rumble/crackle on a fresh unplayed disc? Could be literally any stage of the process; One batch could be made from one set of stampers, and another can be completely different, better/worse depending on numerous factors, not necessarily bootlegged.
Yes....CD's have a stronger signal in general. The vinyl would sound better with only ONE mix per side, and cut at 45 rpm.
My copy is spot on, no problems at all. Clear loud cut. Rumour has it this release was bootlegged, maybe you might have one of those copies?
