"Movin' On (Rollin' Doll)" by Elizabeth is a magnificent mid-era Italo-Disco epic from the likes of Alberto Boceda & Massimo Scaglioni - who were also responsible for "Prince of The Night" (another classic that is somewhat more dreamy and nostalgic than this one - released on Holly Records/ZYX the previous year), as well as the excellent "Crystals" by Glasses.

Featuring the mesmeric vocals of Elisabetta Pancera, which resonate with a characteristic piercing tone and stirring exuberance, the pulsating energy that embodies this track is retained from start to finish. Furthermore, the dramatic synth arrangements and percussion are really top notch - with a slightly dark edge, and while the lyrics are in many places unclear/ambiguous (as of course they should be for an Italo), the chorus in particular is so sublime and enchanting that it makes the song stand apart from almost everything else.

Although not the rarest of the rare, this record is still rather expensive and hard to come by - but is surely worth the effort for anyone who appreciates the distinctively seductive sound of a lost era.
