Europa String Choir were and are sadly unknown to just about everyone except for those few '90s King Crimson fans who may have heard "The Sermon on the Mount" on Discipline Global Mobile's 1996 compilation, Sometimes God Hides. While that track's somber beauty is among the best parts of the band's debut release, The Starving Moon, much of the album is more lively and immediate. Highlights like "The Dancing Bride" and "Health Food Frenzy" convey more energy and may have made inroads with said Crimheads, who also will enjoy Robert Fripp's beautiful cameo appearence on "The Saving Grace."

Making intricate acousic music via two guitars and a viola, Europa String Choir treads similar ground to that other, better known, acoustic DGM threesome, the California Guitar Trio. The replacement of one guitar with the viola opens up more variety of textures and moods and helps the group veer effortlessly between classically and folk-influenced musics, both of a distinctly European variety.

Europa String Choir have released three other albums, all of which are even more difficult to find than The Starving Moon. (The two most recent ones are not even listed on Discogs.) Those who appreciate acoustic music in the Guitar Craft tradition would do well to at least seek out a copy of the band's debut album.

I don't know how somebody did come with a manufacturing company as my copy doesn't show any. The only thing that is clearly relate to US is the production society own by David Singleton. As i don't know who or how it was done i won't try to do a correction, until i have inmages to prove or something to take those images. I won't offer the CD for sale either. I should say as the owner , Robert Fripp used domestic distributor in Canada, and his company is based in UK, i'd love to see the kind of license for the US.
