Refreshing, twitchy, original!

This new solo-project by Munky is an all-star band with Brooks Wackerman from Bad Religion, Steve Krolikowski of Repeater and Leopold Ross and Zac Baird known for several seperate projects. I only downloaded it because I like Korn and therefore was curious what Munky came up with here. And what I didn't expect was to be blown away with this release.
It is a very original, refreshing style they came up with. The term Nervous in their name suits them. The music, especially the vocals, is nervous, creepy and twitchy. The songs are very original. Brooks Wackerman has done a very well job on the drums and Munky & Leopold have made very cool riffs!
I heard the single "Choking Victim" before and instantly liked that. But unfortunately that often is not an assurance the album is the same. In this case, it is. If you listen to "Chosen Ones" you hear sounds where you think your record has an error first, but it works out to be an original sound no one to my knowledge ever used before. I was very suprised, mainly because this is a side project, but the music is well-finished and such an original style, this could easely become a headlining band in the future.
The vocals are an aquired taste, not everyone will like them, but I had the same when I first heared Disturbed or Volbeat. I hope they will tour with Korn some time, so I can see Fear And The Nervous System perform live and I definitely hope this is not just a side project with just one release. Also, I'm definetely going to buy this release if it ever gets released as a cd.
