all i gotta say any fan of gotan or thievery corporation will enjoy this album, and i have seen this album live with the whole band and thievery corporation wasn't there and was one of the best shows i've witnessed, i also have seen gotan project many times and its a whole band there with them as well. all in all its great music tango dub with the thievery flavor to it and a great addition to any collection i have this on cd and vinyl! his newer albums even sounding better than his first offering!!

One thing is sure - the guitar is Federico´s. This album is a brilliant debut, where the latin atmosphere and rythms have been seamlessly blended with the trippy electronic atmosphere of TC. For me this is much more satisfactory than related projects, like "Gotan" - instead of cuting and pasting latin music, this album IS latin music, and at the same time IS electronic music. These are true sounds of the future, transgressing barriers and inviting the question: what is latina, and what is electronica ?...

The question to ask with Federico Abuele’s debut album, Granhotelbuenosaires, is how much is Federico and how much is the Thievery Corporation. No doubt about it, the Thievery Corporation stamp is there: sloping dub rhythms, sleepy mellowness. But the tracks themselves have an unmistakable Latin flair; that could only be Aubele’s doing. Far from simply adding some Spanish vocals, Aubele’s compositions seem to reach back to his Argentine roots. There are some lovely songs here, such as “Esta Noche” and “Salvacion,” which are all delicacy and grace. “Contigo” adds some horns to the prevalent Spanish guitars to tremendous effect. “Besos De Sal” brings some sunshine to lighten up the end of the album. An impressive debut.
