Five Seasons - Feel Alive download mp3 flac

Daniel Voss brings us a nice short EP with Feel Alive under his Five Seasons guise. He sounds even better here than on his regular albums. Also, the shorter duration makes a listening session more manageable. Some standout tracks of the relatively new Lemongrassmusic label are featured here. One of them is the opener "On the Bridge". The beat walks on the thin line of swingin' jazz and bouncin' house very cleverly and the bassline is also groovy and thought-out. The beauty comes in the refrain, where the smooth rhode chords complement the rest of the tune. The title track investigates this sound further and is delightful, but doesn't have as much emotional depth. "Troubadelles" shuffles neatly trough sunny landscapes with wistful vocal samples. The subtle and soft housey rhythms surely reward closer listening to these tracks. "Summer Land" is also nice due to its ambient layers, pushed-up tempo and hopeful melodies. The best track is "Paraglider" led by a cool beat, strumming guitars and beautiful string layers. The piano and string melodies really make this a perfect song. Let's hope Daniel keeps preferring quality over quantity, because this is one of the best releases of the label.
