Nice try, Arista, labelling this WLP as a "remix"!

Well, what the record company gave us here unfortunately, is nothing else but a mere edit of two excellent tracks from the classic GQ - Disco Nights LP. Not that anyone cares really nowadays. I mean it has been more than 40 years since this promo was issued... but still...

I assume that Jimmy Simpson, the song’s co-producer, was also commissioned by Arista to edit the much longer album versions of the two songs to accommodate U.S. radio play which were then issued on this well pressed WLP 12"-single.

Anyway, the standout track here is clearly “This Happy Feeling” on the flip side. The song itself is fantastic and deserves a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ star rating. It has been a party favourite of mine for many years now.

However, it is, again, very unfortunate that “This Happy Feeling” did not receive a proper remix treatment by Jimmy Simpson. With his outstanding remixing skills, Jimmy Simpson could have clearly enhanced an already magnificent album track even further for wider club play. What a missed opportunity! Consequently, the three stars-only rating I have to give this WLP release due to the misleading info provided by Arista Records.

Knowing this, I suggest to stick with GQ - Disco Nights album or to seek out the U.K. 12” GQ - Make My Dream A Reality release which both contain the extended LP version.
