If you have this record - you may be interested to know that a track was covered by a Spanish group called the Magic Whispers. One of their friends purchased a copy of Stay True in 1990 and loved the song, 'Someone else's love' and covered it a few years ago.click on the link below for a decent cover of the original.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BAj-cP-eqII hope to put Stay True and the other Hot Rain tracks on Youtube at some stage...keeps them alive.

We pressed 500 of these in 1990. We sold 175-240 via Probe Plus in the UK who distributed the LP. We never saw a penny from them but that’s how it goes. If you have one you are quite lucky. You can catch a cover version by a band from Spain called the Magic Whispers of Someone Else’s Love – just go to youtube and type in the Magic Whispers Someone Else’s Love. A decent version close to the original. I was quite surprised when I first encountered this version a number of years ago, I emailed the record company to see how they had heard of the song – it was the favourite LP of one of the labels founders. The female singer left shortly after the release of this LP – just like with the first single – ‘It’s a Lie’. The singer on ‘It’s a Lie’ now lives in the US and makes music in a band called Puracane – Alison Rogers – her voice still sounds great to me.Paul started to sing after Stay True and we released a further four singles and a cd single. We also had a few singles on Firestation Tower Records ( a German Label) around 1998/9. You can probably still buy these from them. I still have a number of Stay True’s left over – they are in my cellar. It amazes me how much people are selling Hot Rain vinyl’s for today – we struggled to shift them in the late 80’s and 90’s. Paul and me ran the label until 2000. If you have any of our vinyl’s we always put a little message on the inner part of the record – we always did the vinly mastering at Abbey Road and retreated to the bar in the basement afterwards. I would be interested in hearing how you came across Hot Rain’s material. Feel free to ask any more questions and I’ll do my best to answer you. Ewan

Hi Hugo, well as far as i know Paul runs his own gardening business in Southport UK - Alison moved to the US and formed a new group - Puracane google you'll see her voice is still in goiod shape. I know he lived in Wembley until 1995 - we'd spent 6 years trying but had limited success. I did do a deal with Firestation Tower records in Germany and they put pit a few singles towards the end of the 90's. A Spanish group called the Magic Whispers covered someone eleses love from Stay True - that is on youtube...thanks for the email...Ewan
