This November 2008 release from Richard Van Dongen is his first for In Trance We Trust since the latter half of 2006.

Hypnotize is a track that is hard to get into. From around the 2.56 mark, there is a devious-sounding melody that reminds me of a mouse scampering around in the kitchen looking for food yet all the while trying to remain anonymous from its human residents. This melody remaind when the beat kicks in and provides the basis for the whole tune, although an eerie minimal breakdown at the 4.12 mark ruins the flow. This track was a big disappointment and somewhat of an anti-climax considering the composer's two year siesta.

El Verano De Miami is the longer and better of the two tracks, although to be honest that's not really much of a compliment seeing as Hypnotize is so bad. It is providing the listener with more energy than Hypnotize, as it is pacier and has a more traditional flow to it, which absorbs attention until around the 6.38 mark when the pace finally relents. There are some nice melodies in here too, reminiscient of Van Dongen's earlier work such as Kemistry (ITWT 324-5) and All The Time In The World (ITWT 327-5), both from an era before he embraced and trademarked a more minimal sound.

There have been some good tunes released under the Impact moniker, notably the serene Inspiration (ITWT 314-5), and the peculiar El Cuento De Nando (ITWT 390-5). Yet this EP is a very disappointing one, with almost no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
