If you like me enjoy ambient music with a touch of acoustic instrumentation this is a brilliant unsung gem.
Kenneth is NOT playing atypical piano, organ sounds instead he's channeled Biosphere and gently applies beautiful atmospheric beds of sound akin to an audio version of the northern lights.
This is accentuated by Palle Mikkelborgs breathy trumpet and Lundin's soprano sax embellishments. Nothing is too frantic or dissonant but this isn't really melodic music with memorable phrasing either.
Kim Sjogren's violin accompanies Lundins performance on a track or two making the acoustic instrumentation a bit more forefront in the mix over Mazurs percussive cymbal and log drum pulses.
A very nice recording that should fit comfortably in your music library next to your ECM discs.
This disk was a very lucid wintery effect on the ears in so much its a great musical companion for frosty northern landscapes. Simply put beautiful music jazz or not!
