Having listened through the sixth track which has been linked here, I am not sure whether this is an accurate description in regards to the musical style. It appears to me as if Mr. Eisen may well be decent and honourable in character, however there is a commercial mindset that he seems to embrace and to propagate which I do not cherish. It may sound harsh and they are of course free to explore any genre and style that they please, but this here sounds like an attempt at profiting from the popularity of desert rock at that time. It gets worse, much worse actually, in regards to the solo album which he released ten years after this one and its attempt to create anthems which to me, at least what the first track that I listened through is concerned, where I would doubt whether the remainder of the album would be able to improve dramatically, seems rather hollow. I take issue with this because it does not seem inspired, ironically embodying remarks of his where he is downplaying and negating that there are inspired artists around these days. I may understand what he means in regards to overly commercial music, but the example that he gave about mechanised beats riddled with samples is a simplification. He who poses on a photograph with Ms. Germanotta, who spent all night in his boots stuffed with socks as he recalls, allegorical perhaps, who is one of the most prominent examples for narcissistic hedonism, exhibitionism and tendencies towards imbalanced and deranged personalities and empty celebrations which seemingly are rewarded with popularity, representing some of the main issues about music today.
