The soundtrack to my life, so brilliant, so ahead of its time

Godley & Creme were post-punk before punk was even invented.

The first record of the set is a gem, they were doing music that KLF/The Orb would be doing to great acclaim 15 years later.

The two last records is a jumbled up Peter Cook comedy album, with added 10cc schmaltz.

OK. Not good enough. Consequences has really no comment???? Not good enough. If you don't know about this album let me break it down a little. A prog rock concept vinyl album spanning 3 discs. The basic narrative being mans fight against nature or how powerless we are at its mercy when it starts to get really fucking lively.

My overall memories on the underneath are overall pretty horrible actually. My dad would put this on when he was in a really fucking bad mood -- quite sadistic in hindsight really as he knew there were sections in this record that would literally terrify us.

Kevin Godley & Lou creme divided this device called "The gizmo" which I believe was a box with 5 wheels inside that would align with guitar strings and clamp to the guitars neck. The wheels had wire brushes affixed and were rotated at speed -- when pressed to the guitar strings it would create these other worldly -- almost string section type noise, & with added studio effects would make some of the weirdest noises recorded. Being constitute members of 10cc who were renowned for crazy studio trickery, Consequences saw that taken to another level.

3 standout sections include a man trapped in his house being attacked by the wind and having it slowly destroyed around him (that fucked me up as a kid), The section where there is a firework display in the jungle & all the animals start freaking out (total art noise & also intense) -- but the real shocker is "the flood" which literally starts with a guy in the bathroom brushing his teeth. He leaves the bathroom and we are left in the bathroom with a dripping tap. the drip becomes drips. the drips become a trickle. The trickle becomes a torrent. the torrent becomes rhythmical & before you know it we are listening to a band doing their final number at a rock concert -- and its raining -- hard. As the last number creshendos-- they finale & it finishes.

you can hear the band leader say to the crowd "Hey -- if we all chant together maybe we can stop this rain?!?!"

then BOOOOOOOM ----THE HEAVENS >OPEN< ----FESTIVAL DROWNED --EVERYBODY & THING -- >DEAD<

Just left with the sound of a heartbeat ......that fades.

One of the greatest ambient albums (not totally ambient) of all time .....if you ever knew about it <3
still amazing

& FUCK the Chemical Brother for stealing the art & doing jack shit with it ....So unimaginative ..........
