One of the records had a skip for me brand new. Gave it a cleaning and the skip is now gone which is a relief.Also, the inside of the gatefold gives track listing for sides E and F which don't exist for this 2xLP version. Given the cost of the record, you'd think they could have that fixed...or is Now Again just trying to make feel bad about not signing up for their stupid subscription?The packaging with booklet included is pretty dope though. Records sound decent most of time. The music itself is, of course, otherworldly.

My copy was nice and clean, standard paper inner sleeves, interesting "paste-on" covers made to imitate the originals. Vinyl sounds A-OK but spindle holes were too small-- if you've collected vinyl for years you've probably seen this before, just carve out the hole a tiny bit with a pocket knife, no big deal. Kinda pricey but still cheaper and probably a better pressing than the originals by a gigantic margin.

WHAT A F**KIN JOKE! This label charges $56 for their double LP reissues which is already a small fortune to pay for a record. You think for that price you'd get a high quality pressing, clean and pristine right out of the package. WRONG! First of all the shitty, generic, vinyl-damaging, white computer paper inner sleeves were ripped in places, leaving a fine paper dust on the record's surface. Secondly, the vinyl surface itself looks like it fell on the ground and was scraped across the jagged asphalt of a pebble-ridden alleyway. OMG! I have never gotten a worse looking record than this one. The whole surface is scuffed with all types of markings I can't even identify. Scratches here, scratches there, looks like someone took a concrete shit on this thing. Simply disgraceful. If someone was to visually grade this record it would be given a "POOR" rating. I hate to sound like a record snob but at this price point I expect a little bit more attention paid to the pressing quality than this. Sad too because if this label would have done this reissue right they would have had my future business but now I will avoid their reissues at all cost. I'm sick of these ameteur labels getting the rights to reissue some amazing music while not giving a damn about the quality of their product. Now Again Never Again!

Scubarobnj HAHAHA Now and Again has been around for over 10 years and is definitely not an amateur label, let us not forget folks that these are the same people that brought us the infamous "forge your own chains" comp which is in everyone's record catalogue. If the record came in such bad condition then why not just write to the label? Or the record store? I am sure that you can buy someone's sympathy. 1000 pressings, with record plants over worked, there is bound to be a dud or two, common now. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. But I am going to have to staunchly disagree with you here. The label is definitely 'ameteur.' The only thing they have going for them is their ability to curate a respectable music selection. What you should really be laughing at is the price Now Again charges for their product. Nearly $60 retail (for the 'Reserve Series'). That has to be a joke right? I mean you can get a double LP from an audiophile label like Analogue Productions or Mobile Fidelity for less and at least you know you're getting a quality product pressed at a quality plant from a quality company that's open about their source and mastering and that the record will be pristine and flawless upon opening. So, it's not really a matter that the labels been around for 10 years...4 Men With Beards has been around for 15 and Cleopatra Records has been around for 25 and they're still producing low quality b***s***. Believe me, my concerns only come after purchasing several records from them that have all just been horribly shoddy right out the package (German Oak, David Axlerod, The Lightmen). While I admit the Axlerod sounded great, it was still victim of the same shoddy pressing flaws: scuffed and scratched right out of the package. And that's why this label is ametuer. They could choose to invest in higher quality pressings, especially for the price they're charging but they don't. There was one record I got from them, World's Experience Orchestra, that was pressed at QRP and came in a polylined inner sleeve and had no flaws but that was the only one and never happened again on any of the other releases I bought from them. So basically, after getting several disgraceful looking pressings from Now Again, I'm sorry to say but this is a label that should be avoided (at least their vinyl reissues anyway).
