Its said that every work of art is a political statement. The more apolitical something is, the less touching it may come to the listener (or in reverse, the more brute he may appear to understand what it proposes), thats what we have now as music in modern times, music devoid of any political connotation, perfectly made to alienate with whatever stupidity that may be included. But beware, when I say "political" dont necesarily remit to politics or politicians, in fact i mean to refer to the super-structure in which the civilization spins and the way it generates culture, the politics of life and human order. Only true artists get into that kind of deeper reality, stepping away from the trapments from ideologies and the falacies of politics, the falsity of history and the twisted notion of imposed morality that our culture grants to the masse to understand reality not as it is, but as it should be to favour the power.Its in that sense that this trilogy from Rome becomes political in an almost metaphysical form, departing from the aspect of an also metaphysical freedom as premise for its lyrical development, a freedom of spirit, a purity of action, a liberation from all dominations wether they be powers, authorities, dogmas, faith, morality, hierarchy or class. Rome goes as further as to affirm the irredeemable free spirit that characterize the man aware of his conscience and conscious of his awareness from nature. Sort of an "Übermensch" in an strict Nietzschean sense, Free, therefore without physical, mental or spiritual strains and absolutely determined to do what he please and ready to be free at all costs, through all mediums, wether they may be: Arts, Spiritual quests or War. Appeals to believe in only one thing, the freedom to be, the freedom to do, the freedom to make and to ever adore life as the most magnificent and pure gift.And Rome splendidly display three albums of an excellent craft of lyricism and music altogether, worshipping with a longing soul the free spirit that some men are able to discover and express and the extent of their conviction to protect that faith and nobility. praising the work and life from many men for their efforts and their realizations, their deaths and their martyrdom for their only belief. Once again we see how the poetry that demarks the work reach the level of light and strength necessary to portrait such an inmense task as the aforementioned, and they fail not or get short to ever impress with the finality, both musically and lyrically. The music is always complete, beautifully intertwined with the lyricism expressed, solemn when it needs to be solemn or powerful or light as a feather in an analogy with the freedom that characterize its content. This a masterpiece of modern folklore and even though patentedly European in its direction, it goes beyond as to become universal in its form and to reach the hearts who feel freedom and life as the only true belief that there is.

A literary masterpiece serving as a review and an essential companion to the music itself. Should be included in the future editions of the album.
