San - Feel My Love / Stroke download mp3 flac

Now that this release is over a decade old, I thought it would be a good time to come back and give it a small review.

Benno De Goeij was quite prominent on In Trance We Trust in these days. A lot of the early releases in 1998 and 1999 were composed by him, and this EP under the San guise was one of the first.

Feel My Love is quite a nice track actually, with Sandra Van Leeuwen providing the uncredited vocals to this track. In my opinion she does a grand job. There is a nice balance between her vocals and the trancey element which ultimately makes the tune what it is. The serious breakdown occurs at the 2.38 mark (and again at 4.54) and this is where the vocals take a backseat to the trance. I imagine this track was very big in clubs in 1998.

The B-Side to Feel My Love was a track called Stroke. Whereas the female vocals in the A-Side repeated the words "feel my love", the vocals here in the B-Side repeat the words "stroke my love". It could be said that Stroke is supposed to be the slightly more erotic companion to Feel My Love. Stroke is also an enigmatic track. It has a similar structure to Feel My Love, although the vocals are less prominent during the breakdowns - of which there are also two in this track.

Besides the EP released later on in his career as The Quest (ITWT 310-5), I believe Feel My Love/Stroke is De Goeij's best work on In Trance We Trust.
