It might sound better than the withdrawn issue, but it's still overly compressed.foobar2000 1.3.17 / Dynamic Range Meter 1.1.1log date: 2019-04-09 19:00:46--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Analyzed: Stephanie Mills / Tantalizingly Hot [UK 2015 CD]--------------------------------------------------------------------------------DR Peak RMS Duration Track--------------------------------------------------------------------------------DR8 -0.47 dB -10.38 dB 4:29 01-Last NightDR9 -0.49 dB -11.95 dB 4:19 02-Still Lovin' YouDR9 -1.15 dB -11.63 dB 4:53 03-Keep Away GirlsDR9 -0.88 dB -11.19 dB 4:17 04-You Can't Run From My LoveDR8 -0.48 dB -10.64 dB 3:01 05-True Love Don't Come EasyDR7 -0.50 dB -10.95 dB 4:47 06-'Ole LoveDR9 -0.48 dB -11.42 dB 3:03 07-Your Love Is Always NewDR7 -0.49 dB -10.64 dB 4:56 08-I Can't Give Back The Love I Feel For YouDR8 -0.50 dB -9.71 dB 2:48 09-Wailin'DR8 -0.49 dB -10.30 dB 7:25 10-You Can't Run From My Love--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Number of tracks: 10Official DR value: DR8Samplerate: 44100 HzChannels: 2Bits per sample: 16Bitrate: 1004 kbpsCodec: ALAC================================================================================
I agree. the repress was not perfect. i hear a slight "muffle" still on one track.. it's not on other CD versions of the same song. so why?
I agree but this is the best we are going to get. This could have easily been reissued as a Japan import. But Universal has shown zero interest in remastering and reissuing Mills' later catalog. Its seems easier for them to recycle the same titles over and over again every two or three years. You know, because, based on Universal's actions, music consumers are more interested in Rick James "Street Songs" being reissued 15 times.
