I was playing a double birthday bash in a marquee in the middle of Cornwall in 2007, the dance floor just needed one tune to break the dance floor. This was the puppy! 0-200 people in one tune, this is a weapon of mass dancefloor destruction!!!! All in all this record is worth it's weight in gold and is one that you cn't help moving to. I had that copy pinched, so that is why i am looking on here.
Sounds like a stone cold groove, my man.
Here's my "Do Ya Wanna Funk" story, it's Philadelphia, about 8 years ago, New Years Day parade (mummers) and most ensembles are huge, live brass instruments, elaborate costumes, the works. There was one sickly looking troupe of 3 people, towing their measly offering of a giant PA and Sylvester's "Do Ya Wanna Funk" on repeat. That's it, no 90 piece band, no feathers and paper mache costumes. it was basically 3 drunkards and Patrick Cowley. And ya know what? That was my favorite part of the parade. they rocked. People remember that song as the one in Trading Places where Eddie Murphy throws a party in Dan Ackroid's house. "Who has been putting their Kool's out on my floor?"
