The Angels From Angel City - Beyond Salvation download mp3 flac

Originally released in 1989, Beyond Salvation was the ninth (if my count is right) album from Australian rock band The Angels. Sometimes known as Angel City or The Angels From Angel City, The Angels were one of the most consistent (and, sadly, consistently overlooked) bands in the Australian rock scene.

Unfortunately, as with earlier Angels albums the US version (the only one I've heard) is not the same as the original album. It's apparently a compilation of the better songs from Beyond Salvation as well as some earlier Angels hits. So while I can't really review the "real" Beyond Salvation album, I can say that the US version (it's the one with the band billed as The Angels From Angel City) is a pretty good introduction to the band. It's a bit more melodic and commercially-oriented than say Face to Face or Dark Room, but it still rocks in an April Wine kind of way. "Let the Night Roll On" is the best of the new songs, and "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again" is a classic highlight.

If at all possible, you're much better off with the non-US version of Beyond Salvation unless, like me, you're unfamiliar with The Angels and want a decent jumping-on point. Face to Face is still a better choice, but this compilation makes for a good introduction to this overlooked Australian rock band.
