While Tall Tales and True achieved the most commercial success among these artists, a key aspect of this 'Band of the Week' initiative was to provide bands of seeming merit with an opportunity for national exposure that would have been otherwise highly unlikely. Given that context, the longer term success rate of this cohort is not surprising; the poor extent to which local Australian bands gained traction during this time was the project's whole justification. Other record collectors who have no cause or reason for such nostalgia may none-the-less find some similarity in style between this eclectic collection of 80's Australian obscure pop and the NZ Flying Nun Records classic compilation 'In Love With These Times'.
