How cool was 1998. This Filter compilation with a catchy title has several artists from their rooster and it was widely distributed, way more widely than the rest of the Filter catalogue. There are some real jewels here: Derrick Carter ignores "Glasgow's Jazz" to make a re edit of Prince's "Sexy Dancer", Trailermen does bring a very jam session feel to "Better Love" (I really like the productions from this guy from that era), Sunship does a glorious fantastic brazillian broken beat/house jam in "Marveloso" with another name, and as for the rest the instrumental mix of Kid Loops makes you forget of the heressy of the original and the The Amalgamation Of Soundz one is nice enough, but the ones that end up being really catchy are the remixes of The Fire This Time.

But can we talk about how extremely unnerving and uncanny is the first track by Dj Q? It is basically a very tense discussion sampled under a trip hop rhythm, and somehow it makes me so sad.
