This recording presents a variety of religious music heard in the Maghreb from the very orthodox chants of the "Call to Prayer" and the Koran, to the magical rhythms imported by the ancient African slaves, through the songs of the brotherhoods. These are documents recorded mostly in their natural setting, hence the popular sound background that accompanies them and that we wanted to keep for more authenticity.
