In 1999, Trojan issued the compilation 'Tribute To Bob Marley Box Set'. 48 of the 50 songs came from the first three volumes of the ‘Tribute To Bob Marley’ series. The two remain songs were versions of ‘Maga Dog’. It’s logical that none of the songs came from ‘Bob Marley Tribute Part 4' as both compilations were issued the same year. Seven years later, Trojan released a second set in the same vein named ‘Bob Marley Covers Box Set’. The result is disappointing. 21 of the 50 songs appeared on the first box set. The good news about these duplicates: they have gone through a remastering and they sound much crisper. Out of the 29 songs remaining, 7 comes from the 1970s, 5 comes from the 1980s and 17 comes from the 1990s. The 1970s songs that are new in this series are: ‘No Woman No Cry’ (Byron Lee & The Dragonaires), ‘Lively Up Yourself’ (Byron Lee & The Dragonaires), ‘So Jah Seh’ (Jackie Edwards), ‘Crazy Baldhead’ (Johnny Clarke), ‘Sun Is Shining’ (Delroy Wilson), an alternate mix of ‘Time Will Tell’ (Johnny Clarke) and Natural Mystic’ (Horace Andy). The 1980’s songs are: ‘Slave Driver Dub’ (Sly & Robbie), ‘Rasta Comes From Jail’ (Cornell Campbell), ‘Rainbow Country (recording No.1)’ (Dennis Brown), ’Stir It Up’ (Jackie Edwards) and ‘Mr. Chatterbox’ (Johnny Clarke). Nine of the songs that were recorded in the 1990s comes from the compilation ‘Jah Love: A Reggae Tribute To Bob Marley’ (Music Club, 1996), six comes from budget Rhino compilations (1994, 1995), one comes from Derrick Morgan ’Ska Man Classics’ (Heartbeat, 1995) and ‘Don’t Rock My Boat’ by Glen Ricks seems exclusive to this box set, at least on CD. What puzzle me is that there are many fillers on this compilation and only one song was taken from the excellent 'Tribute To Bob Marley Part 4'.

There is a mistake on CD 2 track 2: It's not Johnny Clarke but Byron Lee & The Dragonaires.
