A great show to start a great tour. Portugal here is many things in one: it is a great crash test of songs to be played extensively at subsequent events, it is very much a 'for the people' type of show, very humane & outright positive. The audience in Lisboa enjoy themselves a great deal, always helpfully singing the lines when Vedder has trouble remembering his own lyrics. The encouraging football game-like chanting also supports lifting the show from a nice quiet start to a thunderstrike of good old grunge rock classics. The setlist is a perfect circle - no surprises & no gaps, which means it's all one could expect from a PJ show at that time. The special moment of the show comes with the ad hoc Last Kiss, probably not included in the original set, which Vedder performs half-solo because of Cameron's drumkit malfunction. In general, a positive listening experience.
