Whether they are european or not, Ian J. Richardson kills your sons. The side A track is a particulary impressive work, no wonder it was a dance floor favorite by many hard hitting DJs some years down the line. It is a furious industrial burner with harsh noises and heavy drum rolls, which go absolutely off the chain around the 03:50 mark and for the last two minutes this track literary blows away anything standing in its path.
The B1 tune is not as intense, but then few things are. What it does have, however, are these really disturbing and demented screams and something that I would describe as desperate cries for help. Real peak time dungeon techno: slamming and relentless percussion, with horror flick effects to complement the unique experience once the stroboscopic light gets switch on.
B2 is a sick sick sick, yet pointless eighty five second interlude with broken beats, where a voice distorted and tweaked beyond comprehension keeps muttering out "shut up!", and god almight knows what else.
Both of these tracks are awesome, true dark and monotonous Birmingham feel to the music. A contemporary producer you should check out if you are into this sound is Croatia's underground man of the hour, Luka Baumann. Be sure to also grab hold of Regis album "Penetration", as well as the absolutely immaculate 12" Richardson recorded with Function for Infrastructure New York, if I remember correctly.
